Overview

This 8-day, 7-night gulet cruise starts and ends in Kos and explores the quieter Dodecanese: Pserimos, Kalymnos, the Lipsi archipelago, Patmos and Leros. The islands are close together, so you spend more time swimming in clear bays and strolling harbour villages than at sea.

Highlights include snorkelling at Pserimos, the white-and-blue harbour of Lipsi with its grilled octopus, the Monastery of St John and Cave of the Apocalypse on Patmos, and the castle above Pandeli Bay on Leros.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Kos Board in Kos port from 15:00 and attend the briefing on the details of the cruise. Overnight in Kos port.

Day 2

Kos to Pserimos and Kalymnos We spend the day in an enchanting bay on the island of Pserimos, where the water is gorgeous and ideal for swimming and snorkelling. In the late afternoon we sail to Vathy, a fjord-like inlet on Kalymnos. This picturesque village is built around the port on the slopes of two hills; you can take a walk or a drink by the sea, or shop for natural sponges. Dinner and overnight in a bay.

Day 3

Kalymnos to Lipsi We sail to the Lipsi archipelago, also called the jewel of the Dodecanese for its many islands and splendid clear water. We spend the day at Makronissi, famous for its caves and rocks, and the evening and night in Katsadia Bay on the island of Lipsi.

Day 4

Lipsi Archipelago Today we visit some of the small, uninhabited islands in the north of the Lipsi archipelago, with clear blue water, such as Aspronissi and Arki. In the afternoon we sail to the port of Lipsi, known for its white and blue houses, small churches and a lively promenade with traditional tavernas. Try the famous grilled octopus here.

Day 5

Lipsi to Patmos After breakfast we visit Patmos, one of the most famous Greek islands, known for its religious past: it is where St John the Theologian wrote the Book of Revelation. You can visit the Monastery of St John, the Cave of the Apocalypse and the UNESCO-listed Chora, the island's historic centre. Dinner and overnight in Patmos.

Day 6

Patmos to Leros In the morning we visit Archangelos island, a small island with crystal-clear water. In the afternoon we sail to Pandeli Bay on Leros. From here you can visit Agia Marina, the island's capital, climb up to the castle, or simply enjoy a drink in one of the seafront tavernas. Overnight in Pandeli Bay.

Day 7

Leros to Kos In the morning we visit the bay of Palionisos on Kalymnos, a small bay with crystal-clear water. In the afternoon we sail to Kos for the last evening in Kos port.
