Overview

This 8-day, 7-night gulet cruise starts and ends in Kos and visits the southern Dodecanese: Nisyros, Tilos, Halki, Rhodes and Symi. You will anchor in quiet bays, swim from empty beaches and spend evenings in traditional harbour villages.

Highlights include the active volcanic crater of Nisyros, the long sandy Eristos beach on Tilos, the neoclassical mansions of Halki, the old town of Rhodes and the Panormitis monastery on Symi.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Kos Board in the port of Kos from about 15:00. Kos was one of the most famous islands of the ancient world, with the Asklepion medical centre founded in the tradition of Hippocrates, the father of medicine, and it has lively nightlife today. If you do not want to stay in the port, we can anchor in a bay.

Day 2

Kos to Nisyros Breakfast on board, then we sail to Nisyros, famous for its volcano, whose crater is still active and can be seen up close. This is a very quiet island of white-painted houses and wide black beaches with beautiful clear water. You can visit the Panagia Spiliani monastery, a small church built inside a large cave. Lunch, dinner and overnight on board.

Day 3

Nisyros to Tilos After breakfast we sail to Tilos, a small gem of the Dodecanese, famous for its beaches such as Eristos Bay, with a large stretch of sand, patches of vegetation and clear water. Tilos is also known for its Red Beach, where a rocky outcrop gives a unique reddish scenery. You can also visit the historic Monastery of Agios Panteleimon. Lunch, dinner and overnight on board.

Day 4

Tilos to Halki Enjoy a peaceful stay on Halki, the "Island of Peace and Friendship", where young people from around the world gather every year for a youth meeting. The island's capital, Halki town (Nimborio), is a listed traditional settlement built like an amphitheatre above the blue sea, and its impressive neoclassical mansions reflect the prosperity the island once enjoyed.

Day 5

Halki to Rhodes After breakfast we sail to Rhodes. The port of Rhodes is calm even in high season. We can arrange a cultural tour of the city for a few hours with an official guide, or a full-day cultural tour of the island with a rental car.

Day 6

Rhodes to Symi In the morning we depart for Symi and arrive in the south at the Panormitis monastery. In the late afternoon, after a swim break, we enter the port of Symi, a beautiful village by the harbour. Spend the night in this beautiful port to enjoy the Greek atmosphere, or anchor in a bay.

Day 7

Symi to Knidos and Kos We depart from Symi to Knidos for lunch. The boat must be back in the port of Kos before 18:00 in the evening, or around 21:00 on Saturday.
