Overview

This 8-day, 7-night gulet cruise starts and ends in Fethiye and follows the Lycian coast east to Kaş and Kekova and back. You will sail past Ölüdeniz, anchor at Gemiler Island, explore the Sunken City of Kekova and swim in two or three different bays each day.

Highlights include the Byzantine ruins of Gemiler Island, the bohemian harbour of Kaş, the underwater ruins and Lycian sarcophagi of Kekova and Kaleköy, the hillside town of Kalkan and optional trips to Myra, Demre, Xanthos and Letoon.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Fethiye Arrive at Fethiye marina and be taken to your gulet. After check-in our representative gives you a short briefing about the itinerary and life on board while you enjoy a welcome drink. Your captain then takes you to the nearest bay to relax. Dinner is on board.

Day 2

Fethiye to Gemiler Island After breakfast we set off along the coast of the Fethiye peninsula and stop for lunch in a secluded bay, with a swim near Ölüdeniz. The night is spent at Gemiler Island, where you can explore the ruins of a Byzantine settlement as the sun sets.

Day 3

Ölüdeniz to Kaş From Ölüdeniz we make an early start for Yeşilköy, for breakfast and a swim in this quiet bay surrounded by olive groves. We then continue to Kaş, a small harbour town with a charming bohemian atmosphere, where we spend the night.

Day 4

Kaş to Kekova and Gökkaya A short cruise takes us to the ruins of Kekova and the Sunken City. Lunch is at Tersane Bay, where you can see the ruins of a Byzantine church and a Roman dockyard on the beach. We sail on to Gökkaya for the night, with the underwater ruins of ancient Gökkaya visible below.

Day 5

Kaleköy and Üçağız Climb up to the castle (Kale) for a spectacular view of the ancient city. Out in the bay, below a theatre carved into the rock, a single Lycian sarcophagus stands on its pedestal in the water. The night is spent in the wide bay at nearby Üçağız, surrounded by green hills.

Day 6

Kekova to Kalkan After breakfast, a short cruise takes us to the sheltered Bayındır Harbour for a swim. The rest of the day is spent in Kalkan, a picturesque harbour town on a hillside, where you can explore the cobbled, winding streets or take an optional trip to the archaeological site of Myra, to Demre for the Church of St Nicholas, or to the ruins at Xanthos and Letoon.

Day 7

Kalkan to Kızılada and Boncuk Bay We make an early start for Kızılada, a natural bay edged with pine-covered hills. Your last night on board is spent in Boncuk Bay.

Day 8

Fethiye We arrive back in Fethiye after breakfast and say farewell to your gulet and crew. The captain may change the route because of weather and sea conditions; each day the gulet visits two or three different bays for swim breaks.
