Turkey's south-west coast is where the Blue Voyage began, and it offers the widest choice of gulet routes in our programme. Sheltered gulfs, pine-backed coves, ancient ruins and fishing villages lie only a few hours apart, so every day brings a new anchorage.

Routes from Bodrum
The Bodrum–Gökova–Bodrum route is the gentlest option, spending the week in the pine-fringed Gulf of Gökova with stops at Orak Island, the Seven Islands, Cleopatra Island and English Harbour. The Bodrum–Hisarönü–Bodrum route covers more ground, crossing to the Datça peninsula and the bays of the Hisarönü Gulf before a sunset at ancient Knidos. For a week in two countries, the Bodrum–Patmos route visits Kos, Leros, Patmos and Kalymnos, with the border formalities handled by the crew. If you want to finish somewhere new, the one-way Bodrum to Marmaris route follows the coast via Knidos, Datça, Selimiye and Bozburun.
Routes from Marmaris and Bozburun
The Marmaris–Hisarönü–Marmaris route is the classic Blue Voyage: short hops between Serçe, Bozukkale, Dirsekbükü, Bencik, Orhaniye and Selimiye. Starting from Bozburun, the Bozburun–Hisarönü–Bozburun route explores the same gulf from its quieter end, with time at Söğüt, D-Maris Bay and Kızkumu beach. To combine two cruising areas, the Marmaris–Göcek–Fethiye loop heads east to Ekincik and the Dalyan River before exploring the Göcek bays.
Routes from Fethiye and the Göcek Bays
The Fethiye–Kekova–Fethiye route is the choice for history lovers, sailing past Gemiler Island to Kaş, the sunken city at Kekova and the castle at Kaleköy, then back via Kalkan. The Fethiye–Ekincik–Dalyan route stays closer to home, combining Ölüdeniz and the Göcek bays with a river trip to the rock tombs of Kaunos and a swim at Cleopatra's Bath.
How to Choose a Turkey Route
- Flights: Bodrum routes use Milas-Bodrum Airport; Marmaris, Bozburun and Fethiye routes use Dalaman Airport.
- Sea conditions: Gökova, the Hisarönü Gulf and the Göcek bays are the most sheltered; routes to Knidos or the Greek islands cross more open water.
- Interests: for ancient sites choose Kekova, Knidos or Dalyan; for quiet bays choose Bozburun; for two countries choose the Patmos route.
- Season: June and September offer the best balance of warm water and lighter winds; July and August are the busiest weeks.
