Overview

This 8-day, 7-night gulet cruise starts and ends in Marmaris and follows the Lycian coast through Ekincik, Göcek and Fethiye. You will swim in turquoise bays, visit the ancient city of Kaunos by river boat and anchor in quiet coves that can only be reached by sea.

Highlights include the Dalyan river delta with its sulphur mud baths and nesting loggerhead turtles, Bedri Rahmi Bay, Tersane Island with its old shipyard ruins, the yachting town of Göcek, and an optional trip to the Ölüdeniz blue lagoon from Fethiye.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Marmaris Transfer from Dalaman Airport to your gulet in Marmaris harbour. Once everyone has arrived, the skipper welcomes you with a cocktail and answers any questions about the trip. The first night is spent in the harbour so you can get to know lively Marmaris at leisure, or, if you prefer, in a quiet bay nearby.

Day 2

Marmaris to Ekincik Before breakfast we depart for Ekincik Bay, southeast of Marmaris, and have breakfast there. A river boat takes us to the ancient city of Kaunos in the Dalyan delta and then upriver to the sulphur mud baths. The sandy beaches of the Dalyan delta are one of the last nesting places of the loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta). Dalyan and Kaunos tours cost extra; ask us for details.

Day 3

Ekincik to Bedri Rahmi Bay We sail on to Manastır Bay and, later in the afternoon, to Bedri Rahmi Bay, named after the Turkish poet and painter who took part in the early Blue Voyages. We anchor for the night in this lovely spot.

Day 4

Bedri Rahmi Bay to Göcek We visit Tersane Island, where local people built wooden ships many centuries ago; the ruins of the ancient shipyard can still be seen. Later in the day we sail to Göcek for the night. Once a small village, Göcek has grown into a popular yachting base with two marinas and many facilities.

Day 5

Göcek to Fethiye After breakfast we leave Göcek for Kargı Bay, a pretty bay with plenty of time for swimming, snorkelling and windsurfing. After lunch we continue to Fethiye, where a minibus can take you to the famous blue lagoon of Ölüdeniz (optional excursion at extra cost).

Day 6

Fethiye to Disibilmez Bay In the morning we cross Fethiye Bay to Disibilmez, a small bay that is a paradise for snorkelling fans and a meeting place for many kinds of fish. Fishermen on board, good luck! In the evening we go ashore on the beach.

Day 7

Disibilmez Bay to Marmaris Bay After breakfast we set sail for Kadırga Bay, where, after a long sail in open sea, we have time for swimming, windsurfing and snorkelling. We then continue to Myra Island for a last swim in the clear waters on the outskirts of Marmaris Bay. In the evening we anchor near Paradise Island and enjoy dinner as the sun sets over Marmaris.
